Our Coffee:

What do the Flavour Notes Mean?

Coffee flavor notes aren’t added—they occur naturally and reflect the journey of the bean from farm to cup. Each stage plays a role in shaping what you taste.

Origin

The environment where coffee is grown—climate, soil, and elevation—has a major impact. For example, coffees from Ethiopia often show bright, fruity notes, while Brazil coffees tend to be nutty and chocolatey.

Variety

Different coffee plant varieties produce different flavor characteristics, much like grape varieties in wine.

Processing Method

How the coffee is handled after harvest affects sweetness and body. Natural (dry) processing can enhance fruity, wine-like notes, while washed processing creates cleaner, brighter flavors.

Roasting

Roasting develops flavor through heat. Lighter roasts highlight origin and acidity, while darker roasts bring out deeper notes like chocolate, caramel, and spice.

Brewing

The way coffee is brewed influences how flavors are extracted, affecting balance, strength, and texture in the final cup.

Together, these factors create the unique flavor notes you experience in every coffee.
